Grief is a natural part of life. However, some people experience severely distressing grief even after a prolonged period of time. To recognise this struggle and to make support available, a new diagnosis called Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) was introduced into diagnostic manuals (DSM5-TR & ICD11).
This study is an attempt to understand how such difficult grief is experienced in India, with a focus on Kerala. We are gathering data through surveys and interviews, with the goal of adapting the description of, as well as an assessment for, PGD for India.
We will update this site as we collect and publish more information. Meanwhile, please feel free to contact us if you would like more information. You can also participate in this study.
